What class are you in? This assignment is during the 1st sem of DG major year (AD have it too but I'm not sure of other majors)

1st year 1st sem, hmm... that means the subject is "letterform and calligraphy", if they havn't change the syllabus there's a "part 2" coming up and the self portrait project here is actually under "typography fundamental", which is a different subject XD (a lot of us go "what the..." when we found out about that)

I didn't see the connection between typo and illustration though, just some tips to check for your future subjects, look for the senior's result list ^_- (though sometimes the syllabus changes) I even know some future assignments through senior's deviantart, lol :3
